Merry Christmas from First Lutheran School
With only one more day until Christmas break things are still pretty hectic at First Lutheran. The excitement of Christmas has definitely been in the air these past few weeks. It really all started the week we returned from Thanksgiving. Christmas trees and decorations began showing up in the classrroooms. While there may be a stray Santa or reindeer hanging up, FLS students know the real meaning of Christmas and that Jesus is the reason for the season.
Our preschool - 1st graders did an excellent job telling the Christmas story On December 9 during our Saturday evening worship. As always, when younger children share the Christmas message its special.
Classes have been getting together for special "Faith Friends" activities like Advent devotions, making crafts, decorating gingerbread houses, and playing games.
Once again, our Student Council had their special gift tree in the reception area that was used to collect presents for needy families.
Students in grades 2-8, under the direction of Mrs. Hinz worked many hours on their Christmas Program, "Miracle on Main Street". It was performed as part of our last Advent service on Wednesday, Dec. 20. I hope you were able to attend because it was a great performance. The true meaning of Christmas, the message of Jesus' birth came out loud and clear. Thank you students for all the hard work you put in to make it such an awesome performance. And of course, thank you Mrs. Hinz ; we couldn't have done it without you!
Of course, I also have to brag about my 5th graders. Last week they performed at Carlouel Yacht Club. They sang many of the songs from their Christmas program. I received so many compliments about how well they did. Excellent job sharing the message 5th graders.!
And finally tomorrow is the classroom Christmas parties. What a joyous season this is!
On behalf of everyone at First Lutheran School we want to wish you a blessed Christmas season as you celebrate God's love for us in the sending of his Son Jesus to earth as the baby in a manger.
She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins. Matthew 1:21
